Cedar Stars Academy and the NAL
CSA commits to the National Academy League

Cedar Stars Academy is proud to announce our Monmouth, North and Hudson Valley divisions have committed to the newly established National Academy League NAL for the 2023 - 2024 season.

The three divisions will field teams in the Boys U13 to U19 age groups and compete first regionally with the promise of a national event for the top performing teams in the summer.

The league offers a 7 month season and promises an additional platform running alongside the MLS Next 10 month season of which Cedar Stars Academy remains a founding member of.

What is the National Academy League?

The National Academy League is the evolution and maturation of the ever expanding current North East Academy League into a more nationally recognized platform serving teams across the East Coast and eventually throughout the country.

The National Academy League is the collaboration of the nation's top academies to support the developmental pathway for players focused on their professional and college careers through a restructured organization divided by conferences all designed to offer highly competitive opportunities for players to showcase themselves, develop and grow to push their soccer careers to the highest possible ceiling.

The National Academy League's Inaugural Fall 2023 / Spring 2024 season will see fifty-four clubs competing in five Conferences: New England, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Florida from U13 to U19.

Participating clubs will also have the opportunity to attend IMG Academy's December College Showcase, as well as compete for a National Academy League National Championship in June 2024.

"Cedar Stars is excited to join the NAL in its inaugural season. We are very impressed with how it all came together with regards organization and what we project for the boys going forward. The national events promise to be an absolute highlight that I think all the teams across the divisions are equally excited about. Us (CSA) being able to commit three divisions speaks to the ever growing culture we have created and continue to develop.”

Anthony Nixon – Sporting Director

“As an academy it is our duty to align ourselves with the top platforms to provide the perfect environment for our players to really develop and push themselves continuously to the next level. With NAL we provide an additional top tier platform for boys to really measure themselves with the best in the region and hopefully nationally."

James Barnes – Academy Director
