CSA – Monmouth Girls Announce Andrew Giallombardo as Associate Director of Coaching
Tinton Falls, NJ - Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth Girls, New Jersey’s only full U.S. Soccer Development Academy Girls’ program, has officially announced Andrew Giallombardo as the club’s Associate Director of Coaching.
What is the Development Academy (DA)?
With more than 10 years of coaching experience on both the youth and collegiate levels, Giallombardo, in addition to coaching two teams within the program, will assist with the club’s technical and staff development as well as serve as a primary communicator for parent/club information. Other chief responsibilities will include the continued expansion of the club’s futsal program in addition to overseeing the implementation of new technologies to support the program’s focus on student-athlete advancement.
“First I would like to thank Charlie Naimo for the opportunity to directly oversee the continued training, curriculum implementation, and mentoring of the talented student-athletes within the Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth program,” Giallombardo said. “This is an exciting opportunity, as I feel Cedar Stars Academy’s ideologies and philosophies on player development mirror my own studies and understanding of the game. I look forward to creating national champions, world-class student-athletes and leading the communication efforts within the club.”
Giallombardo’s professional playing career includes more than four years of international appearances with Premier League side Southampton FC and other teams across Europe.
On the international level, Giallombardo represented the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) as a captain with multiple, international caps on the U15 – U20 levels.
In addition to serving as the Director of Coaching for Soccer Specific Training (SST), Giallombardo led multiple Manalapan Soccer Club and NJCSA - Elite teams to regional and national success from 2011 – 2015. Prior to joining Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth for the 2018-2019 season, Giallombardo served as FC Copa’s Girls Technical Director, Director of Futsal, and Director of Programs, Camps and Clinics from 2016 – 2018.
