During his professional career he played for some of the most prestigious and historic professional soccer clubs in Italy such as A.C. Milan, F.C. Empoli, A.C. Novara and played for the U-18 Italian National Team.
Once he stopped playing soccer he started his coaching career at A.C. Milan working within different divisions with different roles like Talent Scout, Supervisor of National and International soccer school, Research and Development within the Youth Academy and accomplishing over the years a UEFA A License and a Master in Sport’s Psychology.
At A.C Milan covering the role of International Coaching Consultant he achieved recognition, consulting professional clubs in Europe and their Academies such as Stabaek Football Club in Norway, FK Trakai in Lithuania and Metta in Latvia.
Corti joined Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth in August 2017 where he covered the roles of Director of Coaching and Assistant Technical Director to Tab Ramos.
ACADEMY DIRECTOR - BOYS
Swenda joined Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth for the start of the 2018-2019 season as a member of the senior coaching staff overseeing the U12 and U16/17 Development Academy teams. In 2019-2020, Swenda took on the role of overseeing all on field aspects of the club’s DA teams as well as managing the U13 and U18/19 DA teams.
Swenda brings more than 17 years of playing and coaching experience to the program, as well as a USSF A License and NSCAA Advance National Diploma. On the field, Swenda was a four-year starter for Seton Hall University and went on to be drafted 26th overall by the Chicago Fire in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft. Swenda took his trade overseas, playing professionally in Poland and England, gaining valuable experience, bringing that knowledge into his coaching career.
Before joining Cedar Stars Academy, between 2009-2018, Swenda worked full time as a Head Coach for the New York Red Bulls Academy. During his time at Red Bull, he was apart of a staff that helped development over 30 players that went on to sign professional contracts domestic and abroad, more than 20 players selected for USMNT teams and held the standard for the highest MLS homegrown minutes.
ACADEMY DIRECTOR - GIRLS
Giallombardo joined Cedar Stars Academy –Monmouth for the 2018-2019 season as a member of the senior coaching staff. He was quickly promoted to the girls Associate Director of Coaching and has went from strength to strength becoming the Girls Academy Director. A decorated player in his time Giallombardoplayed professionally at Southampton FC in England while also enjoying stints in Belgium and Spain. Was also a member of the United States Men’s National Teams from u15 –u20 levels. Giallombardowas previously the Girls Technical Director at FC Copa Academy before moving to Cedar Stars Academy. A USSF licensed coach currently taking his B License while holding FA Youth Module level 3 from his time in England.
INITIAL STAGE / ROOTS PROGRAM DIRECTOR
As a player, Isaacson was captain of his varsity soccer teams, as well as the Millburn Strikers, and played collegiate soccer at Rutgers University. Isaacson had several honors, including 1st Team All-Region and Rutgers University Soccer ’87 Final Eight NCAA tournament. His coaching experience includes Matawan High School Varsity Coach, Aberdeen/Matawan Ages 3 – 15 and the Special Needs Division. Coach Isaacson is a USSF-accredited coach.
C0-PROGRAM DIRECTOR / ZONE 1 MANAGER GIRLS
Niko recently joined Cedar Stars Academy-Monmouth in March of 2020. He will oversee the growth and development of the Zone 1 Girls Program along with playing a key role in the oversight and direction of Cedar Stars Monmouth club programming.A former player and graduate of Elizabethtown College, Niko spent 7 years at Lehigh Valley United building nationally ranked boys and girls team's along with club oversight as a boys and girls director.Many of his former players currently reside at MLS academies and are Division 1 scholar athletes. Niko is USSF licensed,holds the United Soccer Coaches Premier License, along with his Director's of Coaching License
ZONE 1 MANAGER BOYS
A former professional soccer player, Division 1 college coach and current children’s book author, Vinny Marcotrigiano joins Cedar Star Academy - Monmouth from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where, as an assistant coach, he helped lead the Knights to the 2019 NEC championship title.
Originally from Long Island, Vinny has been sharing his passion and knowledge of the game to children at the recreation, travel, elite youth and college levels for almost two decades and currently holds a USSF B license as well as a National Youth License.
A graduate of George Mason University, Vinny began his professional career with the Staten Island Vipers where he helped the team make it to the quarterfinals of the 1999 US Open Cup with a win over the MLS NY/NJ Metrostars. He continued his professional career playing with the Long Island Rough Riders and the Harrisburg Heat where he won a conference title in 2000/01 and then transitioned to coaching, holding positions as Technical Director at MOBA SA, Director of Coaching at Tophat SC and Roswell SC in Georgia, was on staff for both Georgia and Virginia ODP programs as well as serving as an assistant at the college level working at universities such as Seton Hall, FDU, Gettysburg and Georgia State.
ZONE 2 MANAGER BOYS
Derek has been a member of Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth since the start of the 2017-2018 season. Derek’s combined playing and coaching experience brings more than 30 years of international and domestic views on the game to the Cedar Stars Academy program.
From 2002-2013, Derek oversaw the academy development of the U12-U18 age groups at Oldham Athletic Football Club, which included both player and junior coach development. Many of his players went on to sign professional contracts and are currently playing within the UK.
From 2013-2017, Ogden experienced success as the Assistant Director of Coaching and Professional Development Manager of TSF Soccer Academy. Similar to his platform with Oldham Athletic, Ogden oversaw the coaching education for junior coaches and the development of all coaches within the academy.
Derek currently holds a UEFA B License, National Coaching Award and he is currently studying to complete the UEFA A License and USSF B license 2020/21.
ZONE 2 MANAGER GIRLS
Coach Kent played semi professional soccer in England for over 15 years and has coached soccer in the USA and England for 17 years. A UEFA B licensed and FA Youth module level 3 coach, he has worked for some of the biggest professional soccer clubs in England and has helped coach a number of players who have gone on to play professionally. Coach Kent moved to the USA in 2016 to be the Director of Coaching at SDFC where he ran the staff development and training while overseeing the day to day running of the club.
Agostinho ‘Augi’ Frietas, a graduate of Rutgers University, brings extensive local knowledge to Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth. Augi has been working at all levels of the game, both youth and men’s, in New Jersey for the past 25 years. Most recently was apart of the 2019 Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year, which led NJIT men’s soccer team to both the 2019 ASUN Regular Season Championship and ASUN Conference Tournament Championship. Augi was also instrumental in developing the first ever MLS drafted player in NJIT history, Mamadou Guirassy. He has guided 7 All-Americans, developed 5 Conference Players of the Year and has produced 75 All-Conference, All-Region, All-American and National Award winners.
Augi has successfully coached teams as well to 14 Conference, State, Regional and National Championships. Augi holds a USSF B License.
ACADEMY PERFORMANCE ANALYST
Matthew Uy joins Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth for the 2020/21 season serving as our Academy Performance Analyst. Uy is an assistant coach at Division 1 program, NJIT and previously served as an assistant coach at Iona College and Adelphi University.
The Long Island native attended high school at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida after being selected for the 2007 Residency Program, where he earned over 40 caps with the U17 US National Team and was invited to the U20 USMNT camp, followed by a tournament in Mexico hosted by Chivas Guadalajara and also spent time with second division club FK SIAD MOST in Czech Republic.
Uy playedprofessionally in Asia, playing for the top division in the Philippines, where he earned 10 international caps with the U23 Men’s National Team. With the U23 MNT, Uy participated in the Asia Cup Qualifiers, World Cup 2018 Playoff Qualifier and Suzuki Cup.
Uy holds a USSF C License and NSCAA National diploma.
SPORTS MEDICINE AND PERFORMANCE
Drago Novkovic joins Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth for the 2020/21 season as the Sports Medicine and Performance Advisor.
Drago possesses over 25 years of administrative and clinical experience working in the sports health sector in several prominent medical institutions in the New York City region, which include Hospital for Special Surgery, New York University, New York Presbyterian and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. In additional to his institutional background, Drago has also worked with several amateur and collegiate and national soccer organizations including the US Men’s National Team.
At CSA Monmouth Drago will be working with the CSA Monmouth’s coaching staff in developing and optimizing the sports injury treatment and surveillance system, and co-developing the player performance curriculum and overseeing its execution.
Drago completed his education in sports medicine/athletic training at University of Connecticut, applied physiology and nutrition at Columbia University and healthcare analytics and intelligence education at Rutgers Business School.
HEAD OF GOALKEEPING - BOYS
Keith Cardona joins Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth after finishing his professional playing career most recently with the NASL’s Indy Eleven for 3 seasons.
Cardona has experience at the highest level of youth soccer in this country as a member of U17 USMNT that competed in the 2009 U17 World Cup and a product of the New York Red Bull Academy. He is a graduate of Maryland University where he was a 2x ACC Champion and 2x NCAA Final Four participant. After graduating, Cardona signed his first professional contract in Austria, signing with Red Bull Salzburg B, FC Liefering.
He looks to bring all his knowledge and experience to help guide our young goalkeepers along their own path.
HEAD OF GOALKEEPING - GIRLS
Chris oversees all aspects of Goalkeeper Development and Training for Cedar Stars Monmouth Girls programs. He is also an Assistant Coach with the Women’s Soccer Program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). In addition, he holds his National and Advanced National Goalkeeping License.
John Antunes joins Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth after completing his degree and playing career at Monmouth University. He developed his leadership qualities serving as captain at the college ranks and also at the youth level for top programs like St Benedict’s Prep, Cedar Stars Academy, New York Red Bull Academy and Ironbound SC, where he accumulated such highlights as a high school National Championship, being named New Jersey High School Gatorade Player of The Year, MSG Tri-State Player of The Year, and won a US Club National Championship with Cedar Stars Academy.
Most recently serving as a Cedar Stars Roots trainer, an intern with Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth dealing with day to day soccer operations and helping players through Monmouth University Soccer Camps, Antunes will continue sharing his experience within the game to help nurture our players in their early development.
Joseph Odumewu, comes to CSA Monmouth as a Long Island University Alumni. Currently a holder of the USSF D License, Coach Joseph is continuously seeking to further his coaching education and and building on his licenses and certifications. Coach Joseph has had extensive experience coaching at the High School and Collegiate level.
Mr. Koczan has been approved by the US Soccer Development Academy as an Apprentice Coach and has initiated his B licensing program in 2018. He has earned progressive coaching credentials including, but not limited to, USSF National C, USSF E and D Licenses .
To gain international experience, he has participated in Training Sessions at UK Premier league Academies, as well as other academies in Spain, France and Germany. Prior to joining Cedar Stars Academy, Mr. Koczan was an Assistant High School Varsity Coach and JV Coach St Rose High School. At the youth level he held coaching positions at Garden State Youth Soccer, Shore Boys Club, and Toms River Soccer Association.
Mr. Koczan is a National Soccer Coaches Association member regularly participating in annual coaching seminars.
GIRLS COLLEGE LIAISON / ACADEMY COACH
Coach Wieboldt will enter his fifth season with Cedar Stars Academy -Monmouth overseeing Girls Academy teams. With more than 20 years of coaching at the DA and other top youth-level competition, the USSF A Licensed coach brings great experience, which includes multiple National Championships, and leadership, to assist with the technical development of the program’s youth athletes.
ZONE 1 GIRLS ASSISTANT COORDINATOR
Coach Napoli will be joining the Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth Girls coaching staff with more than 25 years of coaching and playing experience. In addition to earning all-conference during his time at Kean University, the current USSF E Licensed coach’s experience includes time with NJ Wildcats and Match Fit Academy FC.
Coach Nieto joined the Cedar Stars – Monmouth team in 2015. During his playing career in Bogoto, Colombia, Nieto played in High school and town leagues, at the Universidad de Santo Tomas, and in the Second Division Bogoto League. Nieto has coached for Linden Recreation Department, Linden Youth Soccer Association, Schulz Academy/Boca Juniors Soccer Club, and Wellington Soccer Club, all over the course of twenty-five years. Coach Nieto is certified with a USSF C License, FLYSA National D License, NJYS F and E Licenses, NSCAA Director of Coaching and Goalkeeping Level 1 Diplomas, NSCAA Player Development Curriculum Diploma, in addition to other specialized diplomas. Nieto has coached several teams to be Finalists and Regional Champions of the Mid-Atlantic Premier US Soccer National Cup.

Coach Pollard joined CSA Monmouth in 2019 with over 20 year experience coaching at the youth, high school, collegiate and professional levels. Coach Pollard holds the USSF A License, USC Premier Diploma, and the USYS National youth License.
Manalapan native and Louisville women’s soccer graduate returns to New Jersey to continue her coaching career at Cedar Stars Academy. Arianna was a 4 year starter at Louisville and captain of the team her senior year
Former Monmouth University women’s soccer player who has spent time professionally in Iceland, Sweden and Portugal and represented the Portuguese Women’s National Team joins Cedar Stars Academy with a wealth of playing and coaching experience.
ASSISTANT GK COACH / ACADEMY COACH
A four year starter at Monmouth University with a MAAC Regular season championship and tournament championship under her belt. Two time MAAC Goalkeeper of the year (2017,2019) and Monmouth’s all-time leader in goals-against average (0.56) and shutouts (45). Amanda will work closely with, CSA Head of Goalkeeping Chris Duggan and NJIT goalkeeper coach, to oversee Goalkeeper development and training for Cedar Stars Monmouth Girls Program.
Monmouth Beach native and Providence College standout comes to CSA to continue her coaching career. While being a shut down outside back at Providence Olivia was also heavily immersed in community service and local outreach programs.
