MONMOUTH - COMMUNITY

Tinton Falls, NJ - Cedar Stars Academy

Player development on both the youth and international levels has progressed quickly for Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth thus far this year.

Last month, Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth’s Osbin Mendez attended the official U17 Honduras National Team Training Camp, January 18-23, 2018. This marked Mendez’s first official call up for the U17 Honduras National Team.

Based on his performance during the event, Mendez will continue to train with the U17 Honduras National Team as the group continues its preparations for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.

“Cedar Stars Academy has given me a high level of training competition for the past four years and this has helped me get notice for other trials abroad,” Mendez said. “Getting my first call up for a national team ,and because of the high level of training I receive with CSA, I performed well and was invited back to keep on training with the U17 Honduras National Team to prepare for the World Cup next year.”

Mendez has been a focal point of Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth’s U16/17 success thus far this season, starting 14 matches as a member of the team’s back line.

“Osbin has had a great start to the season,” U16/17 Boys DA Head Coach and Boys Director of Coaching John Saunders said.  “He is determined, competitive and versatile. We are all supportive of his achievements and will continue to give him the right platform to excel.”

Join us on congratulating Osbin on his achievement, as we wish him all the best in his continued participation in camp!
