Ronald Arevalo sets the standard.
Ronny becomes the first player to go through the full CSA and Capelli Sport Pathway to Pro process.

New York, NY - Cedar Stars Academy

It is Wednesday 18th August 2021, in a cup match between FC Helsingør and HB Køge, when young Ronald Arevalo made his debut for HB Køge's first team. Arevalo joined the club this summer from American Cedar Stars Academy, and is the first player to go all the way through the CSA and Capelli Sport Pathway to Pro.

More than two years ago, and at the age of just 16, Arevalo signed a contract with HB Køge. The contract came into force this summer, when Ronald Arevalo turned 18 and moved to Denmark. After moving across the Atlantic, the young winger has continuously trained with HB Køge's NordicBet League team and on Wednesday he made his debut for the club in the Sydbank Cup, when he was replaced in the 64th minute of the match.

"It was surreal. Where I come from, not many young people get the chance to make their debut in Europe. I have worked for this all my life and I knew my day would come, so I have just focused on doing my best and on working hard every day.

I did not know that I would make my debut against Elsinore and was sitting on the bench when the coach came over to me and told me to get ready.

At that moment, I thought, "Wow, now is the time," says Ronald Arevalo, and continues:

"When we were chasing a victory, I felt I had to go on the field and score - I really wanted a good debut. Unfortunately we lost in extra time, but I am so happy to have a few minutes with the first team ”.

LONG JOURNEY

Although Ronald Arevalo has been part of the Cedar Stars Academy and Capelli Sport family since he was ten years old, he has not always been part of the club's first team. During his youth, he has worked his way up through the various teams, where he set an example every day for his teammates with the right mentality.

It was actually only when Ronald Arevalo turned 13 that he became part of the Cedar Stars Academy's first team, and later he ended up playing in the USL League Two for the Cedar Stars Rush.

Here he played a number of matches, and became the youngest goal scorer of the season in the tournament in 2018.

With his debut for HB Køge's first team, Ronald Arevalo has written his name in the history books by being the first player to go all the way in both the CSA and
Capelli Sport Pathway to Pro process.
