Cedar Stars Academy Announces Professional Pathway Success Story

American Talent Arevalo Signs Contract with Capelli Sport European Club

New York, NY - Cedar Stars Academy

16-year-old Ronald Arevalo of Cedar Stars Academy in New Jersey, will transfer to Danish club HB Køge in the summer of 2021. The top talent has spent time with HB Køge on multiple occasions where he left a positive impression with the Danish club, leading to a permanent deal beginning on his 18th birthday.

“He’s one of the best players at Cedar Stars Academy and is already proving himself at such a young age. It is important that we thank Ronald’s early club, Hudson United and the Union City recreational league, along with his first coach Cesar Arriaga who played a big role in his early development to get him to this level.” says George Altirs, CEO and President of Cedar Stars Academy

and Capelli Sport.

“We’re always striving towards creating a strong bond between Capelli Sport, Cedar Stars Academy, HB Køge and all of our partners. The feeling of being a part of a global family is important – but it’s more important for the players to feel that we can offer them something in terms of their development.” Altirs continued.

Arevalo has been a main stay at the US Soccer Development Academy club, Cedar Stars Academy, and at 16-years old played a number of games for Cedar Stars Rush, the USL League Two team – becoming the youngest player in the league to score this season. Before the move to Denmark and HB Køge, the talent will continue his development at Cedar Stars Academy and focus his preparations on professional life in Denmark.

“Ronald is a player that catches the eye. He has a very high technical ability – a real dribbler and very fast. We like him very much, but we also know that he has a lot to learn and we look forward to helping him achieve his top potential.” says Per Rud, HB Køge CEO and Sporting Director.

Ronald himself added, “It’s crazy to me to be here right now, as I have never been given anything easy. My parents came here as immigrants and worked so hard to provide for us. I am so happy to be here now, and able to share this moment with them, we have all worked hard to get here and I promise to make them all proud.”

When visiting HB Køge this summer, Arevalo was impressed by the club’s facilities, including the new Capelli Sport Stadium and the level of the First Team’s training which he participated in several times throughout his time in Denmark, including a training game against a top Danish Super Liga club.

In the summer of 2021, Ronald Arevalo will formally move to Denmark to join HB Køge becoming a professional soccer player, and completing the Pathway to Pro for Cedar Stars Academy and Capelli Sport.
