OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is consistent with our mission of developing successful players on and off the field. We take a holistic approach which focuses on the development of the necessary skills each player needs to be successful in the game. Our focus is on the individual player themselves. Believing and knowing that by developing each players’ individual skillset they will form excellent teams.

At Cedar Stars we realize that each player develops in a different way and over a different amount of time. No two athletes are the same. Our philosophy is based on technical ball skill and the work necessary to refine this skill, which in turn, will allow the player to graduate to the next level of the game.

We firmly believe in a positive culture and environment where players can learn through teaching and understanding. Our coaches treat each player with respect and focus on teaching this quality to the players as well.

We view our coaches as teachers, and we break down training and matches based on the ages they are coaching, similar to the classroom.

We strive to foster a culture of respect, teamwork, grit and perseverance throughout the academy, players and coaches alike, as well as an appreciation for what the game means and represents.

Our Forever Green spirit is the essence of this culture, which unites our players and families through a shared passion, for not only soccer, but for life and growth. For belonging. We encourage our players to push themselves and each other, to celebrate development, uniqueness and daring to be different - to cherish the wins, learn from the defeats and never forget the emotions of their experiences, knowing that no one succeeds alone and your success is my success.
